With careful precision, we started demoing the space, making sure to handle the furniture with care because we planned to reuse as much as possible. However, the old couch had to go for good. Once we had a clean canvas, we prepped the space and got to work on priming and painting everything. The transformation was incredible, and we were ready to make a few small changes. Upgrading the speaker system to sleek Bluetooth speakers and replacing the outdated light fixtures with modern LED ones were just the beginning. Our RV Makeover – Part 1!
Introduction
Welcome to our modern RV makeover! We are excited to share our journey of renovating this outdated RV and hopefully getting it ready in time for the summer. In this article, we will provide a comprehensive recap of everything we have done so far to give you an idea of the transformation that has taken place.
Removal of Everything
Since we had been using this RV for a couple of years, the first step in our makeover process was removing everything from the space. We wanted a clean slate to work with, so we carefully took out all the furniture and fixtures. Our goal was to reuse as much as possible, except for the old couch, which was never going to make a comeback.
Demoing the Space
With everything removed, it was time to get to work on demoing the space. We ensured that we took extra care while handling the furniture to avoid any damage. Demoing involved removing any unnecessary walls, cabinets, or other fixtures that were no longer suitable for our vision. This step allowed us to create a more open and spacious layout for our RV.
Prepping and Painting
Once the space was demoed, it was important to prep the area for painting. We cleaned the walls thoroughly and made any necessary repairs, such as filling in holes or cracks. After the prep work was complete, we moved on to priming and painting the walls. The fresh coat of paint made a huge difference and instantly gave the RV a modern and rejuvenated look.
Switching Out Speaker System
As part of our RV makeover, we decided to upgrade the outdated speaker system. We replaced it with sleek speakers that can use Bluetooth, offering us a more convenient and enjoyable music experience during our trips. This upgrade was a significant improvement and enhanced the overall ambiance of the RV.
Upgrading Light Fixtures
Old, bulky light fixtures were another aspect we wanted to change. We replaced them with small, sleek LED light fixtures. These fixtures not only provided better illumination but also gave a more modern and stylish touch to the interior. The switch from old to new transformed the RV’s lighting and added to the overall aesthetic.
Replacing Flooring
Next on our list was replacing the flooring throughout the entire RV. We opted for vinyl plank flooring due to its durability, ease of installation, and aesthetic appeal. The vinyl plank not only looked great but also provided a practical and low-maintenance flooring option for an RV. This upgrade gave the space a cohesive and fresh look.
Choosing Vinyl Plank
When selecting the vinyl plank for our RV flooring, we considered factors such as durability, water resistance, and style. We wanted a flooring material that could withstand the wear and tear of RV adventures while still looking great. Vinyl plank checked all the boxes, and we found a design that perfectly complemented the overall aesthetic we were aiming for.
Installing Vinyl Plank
Installing the vinyl plank flooring was a time-consuming but rewarding process. We carefully measured, cut, and laid each plank to ensure a seamless and professional-looking result.
